The ancient Greeks’ love for geometry was bordering on obsession. One of their quest led them to find what came to be known as the golden ratio. Recently, the golden ratio was under spotlight when Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code” repeatedly referred to it.
The golden ratio, which is also known as “the number phi” is said to govern nature and that it exists in all things. An irrational number, it is the ratio of the longer side of a rectangle to its shorter side such that when a square is cut from the rectangle, the corresponding sides of the resulting rectangle will have the same ratio.
Test your skills and find the golden ratio yourself.
